With 35 years of parish ministry, Deacon Ralph Poyo's passionate, humorous, and playful style has captivated adult and teen audiences across the country with the truth of the Gospel of Christ. His style disarms his audiences, and he speaks directly to the issues that plague our efforts in living the Catholic Faith.
Deacon Ralph Poyo is back for another parish mission! See the description below and check back later for more details as they are announced in the coming months.
In these days when faith in God is declining, surveys have revealed that less than thirty percent of remaining practicing Catholics believe in the true presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. This leads those of us who really believe to question “how does one come to see Jesus’ true presence in the Blessed Sacrament.” This three night mission will be both informative and lead those attending to the a better understanding how one comes to not just believe in but see, through faith, our Lord in His Eucharist presence.
Born From Above – This presentation will unpack our Lord’s conversation with a Scholar of the Old Testament Scriptures, Nicodemus, in John chapter three. Despite all his studies, Nicodemus still could not understand the ways of God. He needed more than knowledge, Jesus came to help him see. He came to help us see.
Baptized With The Holy Spirit and Fire –
This presentation will look at John the Baptist’s words from Matthew 3:5-17, where John explains what the Lord is going to Baptize us with. Just following his statement, Jesus came to be Baptized and received the Holy Spirit. These are all signs of what is required to be able to see. And yet, despite Baptism, it appears as though we do not operate with the same power, why?
Do This In Remembrance Of Me – This presentation will unpack the Wedding Feast of the Lamb of God that is described in Luke 22:14-20. We will be using Luke’s account of the Lord’s Supper and Compare it to St. Paul’s account from 1Cor. 11:23-26. The participants will come to understand what and why the Apostles understood Jesus to mean when he said “Do this in remembrance of me.” They will then be encouraged to enact their gift of free will to choose to believe in the true presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.
A Parish Mission is a special time when a parish community gathers together to gain further insight into a faith-filled life. Our goal is to FILL THE CHURCH with these talks! Invite your friends, family, and neighbors, especially those open and curious to learning more about their faith. We hope you are moved and inspired to get more involved so that St. Joseph can be "On Fire, Living our Faith Together!"
Open to all those who would like to light a spark in their faith life. This Parish Mission will help lead participants that are new to the faith into a deeper relationship with Christ, but will also challenge the veterans to strive for even deeper levels of faith. ALL are encouraged to come! Recommended for teens and older!
“The Parish Mission that you lead changed my life and saved my relationship with God, my wife and my family! God is so good and it’s awesome to be Catholic!”
