St. Joseph Catholic School recognizes child care as a present and growing need for families of every size and form. Our programs are designed to provide children with a warm, supportive environment where they have opportunities to enjoy activities, develop responsibilities, and stimulate their curious minds.
We are pleased to announce Mrs. Becky Vosburg as our Extended Day Program Coordinator. Mrs. Vosburg is a St. Joseph School Alumna and has a 6th Grader, Colton, and Drew is in 4th Grade at St. Joe's.
St. Joseph Catholic School recognizes child care as a present and growing need for families of every size and form.
The bishops of the United States in their 1986 letter, Economic Justice for All stated, "For those children whose parents do work outside the home, there is a serious shortage of affordable quality day care. Employers, government and private agencies need to improve both availability and the quality of child care services."
Our goal is to provide an Extended Day Program in a relaxing, well-supervised environment for school age children. Further, our aim is to offer a service to school families that will meet the needs of parents as effectively and efficiently as possible. We welcome your comments and suggestions at any time.
The St. Joseph School Extended Day Care Programs are designed to provide children with a warm, supportive environment where they have opportunities to enjoy activities, develop responsibilities, and stimulate their curious minds. Efforts are directed toward developing a strong sense of community, in which the program becomes a place children enjoy coming. All children are treated with consideration and respect and, in turn, will be expected to treat peers and adults in the same manner.
On behalf of the staff of the St. Joseph School Extended Day Program, we welcome you! We strive to provide your child with a fun and safe environment with an emphasis on the needs of each individual child. This environment offers structured activities that are designed to promote an individual child's physical, intellectual, emotional and social well-being and growth.
The program consists of a range of activities including outdoor play, gym activities, mis and cratts, free play, games and coloring. Children may do homework, read a book or just enjoy down time under the supervision of our qualified staff.
This non-academic part of a child's day is crucial to his/her social and emotional development. Self-confidence, self-respect and sel [-definition are encouraged. Making choices, developing responsibilities, learning to express his/her needs, and building friendships are important to a child's development.
The St. Joseph School Extended Day Program is open to all school children from 3K to 8th grade. There is a $40 registration fee per family per year if enrolled before the start of the school year.
After school begins for the academic year, the registration fee is $50 per family.
There are two options of Extended Day Care.
Early Drop Off is an option from 6:30 am to 7:40 am each school day. Students who need to be dropped off at school before a playground supervisor arrives at 7:40 am will need to use this option. There is a sliding scale of fees beginning at $6 depending on a student's arrival.
The After School Extended Day Program runs from 3 pm to 6 pm each school day. Fees for after school care begin at $8 per hour for a family's first child, $4 per hour for the second child and $2 per hour for the third child. Fees are determined by time spent in Extended Day Care. Families will be charged $1 per minute per child for picking up children after 6 pm.
Each child participating in Extended Day Care will be billed in an account set up in FACTS. This account is to be prefundcd with monies subtracted as needed. Accounts falling into the negative must be taken care of as soon as possible. Repeated negative balances may result in late fees or unavailability of Extended Day.
Checks returned to the program by your bank as unpaid are subject to a $25 fee and will be charged to your Extended Day Care account.
